Many of us would like to be rich. People with wealth surround themselves
with the best that money can buy, while most of society just
manages to exist (and many from paycheck to paycheck).
In fashion, must we compromise our standards to wear polyester blends
instead of the finest wool or silk? Not in the least!
The magic and joy of Second Life certainly allows us to experience the finer things
in life without breaking the piggy bank in RL. We can play dress-up every day
without the guilt associated with overspending at Nordstrom, Sachs or Macy’s.
Although our Second Life experiences are fantasy, this article is not solely about
pretending to be rich. That would not be any fun. Instead, this blog mainly focuses
on ways to live in a quality lifestyle here, which depicts affluent wealth,
but in a discerning manner and with good taste.
The first step to living rich here in SL is to immediately stop spending money
in the Marketplace on anything that is not a necessity - and instead focus
on quality over quantity, refining your wardrobe with timeless pieces.
My Mom must have told me over a thousand times that "less is best" when
I was growing up. Back then, I equated having lots of accessories and
an endless wardrobe with being successful.
As time progressed, I have since learned to refine my wardrobe with fewer items -
consolidated with pieces I believe to be classically timeless.
I recommend that you look to dresses and other outfits from some of the more
fashion couture quality designers like LUXE Paris Fashion and then work
your way through your jewelry accessories, shoes and hosiery.
Luxe Paris Fashion is one of my favorite choices. They create quality
silhouettes for the affluent, well-dressed women here in Second Life.
Take this Luxe Paris Affluent Dress and Hat for example. It is a splendid
example with a timeless classic look which will never go out of style.
It is the kind of style which oozes with sophisticated elegance -
for the beauty of this dress rests in the details.
I love the center-gathered tulip style hem on this midi dress which perfectly
harmonizes with its empire waist and petite-patterned sweetheart bodice.
Paris artistically used a black cotton texture with a mesh grey overlay to
create this charcoal black tweed-like wool salt & pepper fabric.
So, if you are looking for something out of the ordinary, this
Luxe Paris Affluent Dress & Hat will be one of your wardrobe essentials.
At first glance it looks like a pant dress, with its satisfying center gathered drape -
then it delightfully culottes as a split skirt. This design enhances the visual impacts
to the proportions of your body in an awesome and stunningly beautiful way!
This dress is smartly finished at the high waist with a practical empire
bodice featuring contrasting geometric perforated monochromatic patterning.

It is richly complemented by the matching bow and banding
of its brimmed gaucho type bolero hat.
The dress has a nice snug fit. I decided to pair it with sheer black seamed pantyhose.
It also looks lovely with leggings or tights in a light grey contrasting color!
