Swank Events April '19 Premiers the SKBW Boho Dress - “Beauty Adorns Virtue”

There are certain fashion dresses that will never go out of style
and will always remain the talk of the town.

This gorgeous SKBW Boho Top & Skirt Outfit is one such statement.

From a historical standpoint, whenever I think of fashion and architecture,
my mind immediately leads me to the charm and beauty of Tuscany.

Tuscany is known for having some of the most beautiful and artistic
cities in the entire world. The Tuscan city of Florence is renowned
for its architecture, paintings, sculptures and literature.

It is known as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.

Filippo Brunelleschi’s domed Cathedral of Florence -
Symbolizing the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance.
Perhaps the most notable art & architecture in Florence are Michelangelo’s
David, Botticelli’s “Birth of Venus” and Brunelleschi’s Cathedral of Florence -
which later served as the inspiration for Saint Peters dome in Rome.

Florence is also known for fashion.

Guccio Gucci founded his well-known brand in Florence.
Additionally, renowned fashion designer and Florence native Emilio Pucci
is credited with establishing Italian ready-to-wear style.

Leonardo da Vinci's iconic portrait of the Florentine noblewoman
Ginevra de’Benci

For the Renaissance woman, beauty was not skin deep.

During the renaissance period, “VIRTVTEM FORMA DECORAT,” or “Beauty adorns virtue”
was the motto. Renaissance women were expected to dress in lavish clothing, jewelry, accessories and cosmetics to adhere to contemporary beauty standards.

In order to be considered beautiful (and fashionable), the early modern woman
also had to possess virtuousness. This definition of beauty reverberated
across nearly all portraits of women from that period.

This SKBW boho dress is very chic and on-point for Florence’s urban walks,
art galleries and national museums. This dress is a work of art.

It features a two piece, bandeau top neckline with lace appliques, a long
muslin cotton fabric skirt and ribbon tied red saffron sarong.

So pamper yourself with the innovative fashion statement this dress delivers.
It is a timeless classic inspired from the nobility of the Italian renaissance.

SWANK EVENT April '19 Introduces the AnaSTyle Allie Ripped Skirt & Top - A splendid example of a fashion culture phenomena.

Some things in the world of fashion remain inexplicable to the ordinary woman.
Every so often a trend comes along which seems utterly ridiculous yet catches on.

Take the current obsession with ripped jeans and skirts for example. They are
indeed one of the most ubiquitous trends in today’s modern fashion society.

AnaSTyle’s Allie two-piece top & ripped skirt outfit is a great example
of this fashion culture phenomena. One which is superbly done.

For what makes AnaSTyle’s outfit beautifully unique is its well-crafted design
with the added floral pockets and piping which complement its cold shoulder top.

In SL this makes a great fashion statement – taking it to a whole other
level without going over the top (no pun intended).

From a historical standpoint, ripped or “distressed” denimwear became
popular in the late 1980s during the hard rock/heavy metal era and then
again in the 1990s and 2000s during the grunge era.

For the punk culture they signified rebellion, tearing them apart as an expression
against society's norms - with denim becoming a key part of their political statement.

In 2010, ripped jean fabric made another comeback. Today, ripped jeans have
become so common that you can find them virtually
in every clothing store around the world.

In fact, you can hardly walk down any major urban street without being confronted
by bare knees, calves and thighs exposed through swatches of tattered denim.

Swank Events April '19 Introduces Wild Fashion & Beauty's Naima Chiffon Tunic Dress - Reflecting the Essence of Today’s Boho Chic Style.

The bohemian style has, for over 200 years, been an exotic alternative
to the mainstream fashions of a given period. It has been generally
associated with artists, writers, and intellectuals.

The bohemian culture incorporates various ethic clothing styles,
as well as historical attire.

This Wild Fashion & Beauty Naima Dress reflects the essence of today’s Boho style.

The bohemian or “gypsy” style consists of several fashion elements, re-emerging
as the beatnik style in the 50s and then in the hippie movement of the 1960s.

The bohemian style consists of loose, colorful clothing and has been
known as boho chic, hippie style, and aesthetic dress.

With their long flowing hair and rich, though threadbare fabrics, bohemians
stand out in a crowd representing a colorful counterculture – one which is based
on creativity with an irrelevance to social structures and traditions.

During the 60’s many fashion traditions were broken, giving way to social
movements during the time which featured a number of diverse fashion trends.
Today, it is commonly referred to as the “Boho chic” look.

This Wild Fashion Naima Chiffon Tunic Dress reflects this hip peasant style -
boasting a mini dress tunic style and boots. It is a much less restrictive
type of dress worn without corsets, bras or other restraining elements.

This Wild Fashion & Beauty Naima Chiffon Tunic Dress is a look of contrived
dishevelment with loose, flowing material made of natural chiffon fabric.

This lovely flowing draped sleeve tunic mini dress has a straight mini hemline and
features an array of wonderful textures to choose from the included HUD menu.

The ruffles and loose edged appearance reflect a rebellious disregard for
tautness and uniformity. In keeping with the Boho look,
the hairstyle I chose is also loose and flowing.

The HUD textures are of a nontraditional manner and are a mixture of
three different prints with vivid color combinations,
as well as boho and peacock patterning influences.

SWANK Events April '19 Introduces JUMO Originals Saffron Gown - Combining sensual flair with modern sensibilities & timeless elegance.

This Jumo Original Saffron Gown possesses an elegant silhouette
with an exotic look done right.

This stunning dress taps into an Asian feeling conceived from saffron-hued silk organza.
Organza is a thin, plain weave, sheer fabric which has been traditionally made from silk.

Saffron is an exotic spice derived from the flower of Crocus sativus,
commonly known as the "saffron crocus."

The vivid crimson stigmata and styles (called threads) are collected
and dried which properties are then used in many ways.

The history of saffron cultivation and usage reaches back more than 3,000 years
and spans many cultures, continents, and civilizations.

Saffron has remained among the world's most costly substances throughout history.
Saffron is native to Southwest Asia, but was first cultivated in Greece.

Saffron crocus cultivation has long centered on a broad belt of Eurasia bounded
by the Mediterranean Sea in the southwest to India and China in the northeast.

This exotic spice is used as a dye coloring in fabric. It is also used in cooking, adding
not only a delicious flavor to a meal, but also a deep orangey-red color.

It also has natural antibiotic properties, and is believed to help with colds,
asthma and ailments that come with age such as arthritis.

The harvesting of saffron is an extensive and expensive process, however
many believe that the feel, taste, color and healing properties are worth the money.

In India, clothing dyed with saffron signaled one was high in the caste system. In
Ireland, Saffron dyed garments were worn by ancient Irish royalty, symbolizing wealth.

This beautiful Jumo Original Saffron Gown comes with a color & texture
HUD applier featuring new exotic textures and rich colors.

This applier provides 25 different color options grouped into three uniquely
different texture styles for that special look you wish to make.

Achieving an aesthetic both regal and effortless, this Jumo Original Saffron Gown
features contemporary cut-outs with romantic cuffed sleeves and flowing sophistication.

Its boat and plunging neckline, sensuous side slit outseams and gorgeous prints
merge modern sensibilities with timeless elegance.

Swank Events for April '19 Premiers the LUXE Paris Bohemian Jumpsuit: A free-spirited outfit which embraces our contemporary lifestyle.

The French word bohémien means "gypsy."

The thing that I love most about wearing the bohemian style of clothing
is how feminine and free it makes you feel.

This LUXE Paris Boho Jumpsuit certainly resonates those qualities.

Some say the Bohemian style originated with the gypsies during the 50’s who
traveled through Central Europe. Because of their on-the-road lifestyle,
they would wear numerous pieces of clothing which were individualized.

Chocolat - The most over-looked feminist "gypsy" film of the 21st Century

The Gypsy did not follow the trends of the wealthy or ambitious. In some ways,
the gypsies were like the first fashion bloggers - unique and self-made.

However, the gypsies were choosing to be “boho” because it was convenient.
They really didn’t care whatsoever in “following the trends.” They were a group and
culture of nomadic refugees, fleeing the hard lives of their former countries.

Because they were not patriotic to any given country, they felt no need to conform.

Looking back in American history, the boho trend emerged during the rebellious
anti-establishment ‘60s Vietnam war period. Peace & Love passions of the war protesters gave birth to tie-dye fabrics with the use of bright, primary colors and bold patterns.

The ’70s was an era where individuality was beginning to be emphasized —
where you could be one of many styles and still technically be “following ’70s trends.”

The 80’s was a potpourri of an era, where “anything goes” and was accepted as
an expression of styling freedom. It was during this period of time when
disco dancing, feminism and the bohemian style of the jumpsuit emerged.

Today the free-spirited bohemian trend embraces us both in fashion and lifestyle.
It is a trend which does not explicitly follow all of the fashion rules -
and thus secedes from conventionality in life and in art.

This beautiful Luxe Paris Bohemian Jumpsuit delicately walks between
laid back and ladylike as if to say, “I am a lady, but I am also comfortable
and confident enough to express myself and feel sexy.”
