These deliberately chopped and frayed tops and shorts date back to the 1970s when
the iconic Daisy Duke played by Catherine Bach wore them in The Dukes of Hazzard.
She harnessed the power of her exceptionally toned legs with her cutoff denim
pants to distract truck drivers and avoid tickets for reckless driving.
It is interesting to note that before production on the set, the network censors
forced Bach to wear flesh-colored tights at all times, to avoid scandals during its
American primetime viewing. Since then, fashion designers have
come out with several iterations of denimwear which push the limits.
These Malide denims bottoms can hardly be called shorts at all, with everything
but the seams cut away - leaving just enough foundation to keep me
from getting arrested for indecent exposure! LOL!

The sexy knotted top reminds me of the risque look that Rachel Welch
wore in One Million Years B.C. Its frayed and worn-away look
