MISS VIRTUAL WORLD 2020 - Steampunk Apocalypse Photography Challenge - Becky Kenaan MV♛ France 2020

Becky Kenaan MV♛ France 2020 - Photography by Issy Flatley

The Earth suffers an apocalyptic war. All electronics worldwide
are destroyed with high technology inoperative.

The civil society of laws which once governed is now replaced by
a dystopian society - leaving the world's population in tatters.

Becky Kenaan MV♛ France 2020 - Photography by Issy Flatley
Humanity has entered a new age with the rebirth of steam technology
rising after the apocalypse - as vestiges of mankind fight for
survival against mutants and roaming marauders.

Inspired by the nomadic Ethiopian tribes of the Sahara Desert, I infused this
apocalyptic fashion statement with a SHI "Arcane" headdress to protect my
face from the harsh EMP winds - with jewelry consisting of "up-cycled"
pieces of unwanted metals, clocks and rusted bottle caps.

A raveled SHI Kimono leather bolero helps maintain my body temperature
while the metal-framed Pixel frayed Box Skirt protects me in battle.

Mimicking the 1856 Crinoline Paris hoop skirt, it also recalls the
Mad Max Thunderdome cage... "Two Wo(men) Enter - One Wo(man) Leaves."

I finished my look with baii maii All Time Basic Top and Skirt, SHI Mutant
Boots & Fingerless Gloves, PIXEL Box Steampunk Doomsday Necklace and
Luas Wasteland Axe - to dismember any mutants who dare attempt
to steal my precious fuel, food and water supplies.

MVW 2020 3rd Photo Hat Challenge - Introducing the Couture Chapeau Aria Forte Trapeze Hat - Becky Kenaan MV♛ France 2020

For this 3rd Photo Challenge, the high contrasting black & white monochromatic colors
of my Couture Chapeau Aria Forte Trapeze Hat captivated and inspired my imagination.

This matching black & white Bueno Chunky Stripe Tank shirt
which I am wearing is reminiscent of the Breton shirts which became
the official uniform of the French Navy in 1858.

Its' contrasting horizontal bands made it easier to spot a sailor fallen overboard.
Since then, this stylish shirt has become an iconic French national fashion staple.

In keeping with Spring 2020 trending, I am wearing a baii maii leather
front-laced mini skirt with knit Dining Out high stockings and heels.

To keep me company, I am holding "Alaire" - my cute little black & white French Bulldog puppy by SF.

I am also adorning a Warm up Flower scarf and a long gray Maitreya
wool cardigan to keep me warm during those brisk days strolling
along the Seine's La Rive Droite (Right Bank) in Paris.

To complete my ensemble, I accessorized with Ghee B&W Sparkle
Shimmer Bangles, Avaway bracelets & watch, and simple
CK studded pearl earrings.

MVW 2020 2nd Photo Challenge - Representing the Fashion of Joseph Altuzarra Fall 2019 - Becky Kenaan MV♛ France 2020

Parisian born and raised, Joseph Altuzarra was introduced by his parents to
many cultural facets - from literature, art history, ballet to architecture.
This multi-cultural exposure helped to shape both his worldly
sophistication and prominence in fashion design.

For this 2nd Photo Challenge, I was inspired by Joseph Altuzarra's trendy
Fall layered chunky sweater look. For my presentation, I selected an
MW Oversized Cardigan Sweater layered over a signature French
haute couture Black Affluent Dress by Luxe Paris Fashion.

The dress features a sophisticated perforated metallic mesh bodice with
center-gathered ruched texturing and a coordinated bolero boater hat. I am
also wearing simple Blueberry Julia grey pants to create this worldly,
yet edgy fashion statement.

I accessorized my outfit with fashionable sculpted Steinwerk Fee metal sunglasses,
a bold Ashanti Ebony necklace & earrings set, black CA X-Gloves, a large
Maitreya black leather satchel and a pair of fierce Kokoia Belice heels.

♛ MVW Styling a high fashion look in the Spirit of Jean Paul Gaultier ♛

Jean Paul Gaultier's "Le chic du noir métallisé et enveloppant" by Becky Kenaan

For this challenge on the runway, I was first inspired by the monochromatic black,
Jean Paul Gautier outfit worn by Madonna which appeared on the cover of
Madame Figaro (France) magazine in 2006 for the Future Lovers, Confessions Tour.

Parisian born, Jean Paul Gaultier has a playful approach to design which has
always set him apart - allowing him to forge new creative paths.
Gaultier’s fearless attitude has set the standard for the Gender Neutral (GN)
fashion phenomenon we see today.

That said, as a part of my ensemble, I am wearing select pieces
from SHI Lux, a gender neutral clothing store.

I love the sophisticated metallic embossed black & silver textures of
SHI's GN haute couture wrapped Jacket and boots.

I complemented these with Addam's dark grey metallic pants, a silver/ black
wrapped African tribal turban by Artizana, silver and black bangles,
and Stone's Works black Tribal Moon earrings to complete my ensemble.

♛ MISS VIRTUAL WORLD FRANCE 2020 Presents "Pop-Art Chic " ♛

For this first photo challenge, my Pop-Art Chic look is derived from
the pop-art culture of Hispanic graffiti in Los Angeles.

Graffiti and street art can be very controversial. However, having grown up
in the Los Angeles area, I have also seen graffiti used positively, as instruments
of social change and expressions of community solidarity.
They even bring beauty to certain neighborhoods.

My look is mainly inspired by a wall piece by Elisabeth Romhild, representing
a fun Hispanic tango, painted with vibrant hues, daring and fluorescent.

My Equinoxe boots take on the same fiery color palette as my Baii Maii dress.
To complete it all, an aviator jacket (very fashionable this fall), sunglasses that look
exactly like my bluetooth musical glasses in real life and, of course, a French béret!

♛ MISS VIRTUAL WORLD 2020 Presents DIVERSITY in Second Life. ♛

"Chic Afrique " by Becky Kenaan - MV♛ France 2020

Fashion has long served as an important medium for negotiating differences
across cultural divides. Clothing encourages a means by which we engage
distant cultures into our familiar environs. It also highlights cultural differences
to reinforce cultural identity through contrast with others.

Fashion is always evolving. It is characterized by self-conscious change which
also has played an important role in the description of cultures and subcultures -
providing a key means of making affiliations.

This runway challenge was a unique opportunity for me to trace the flows,
intersections, and contrasts in the cultural aesthetics of African clothing. That
said, my presentation is a premise on how African culture
has influenced today’s French couture fashion.

For this challenge on the runway, I was first inspired by the Stone's Works
TRIBAL MOON Copper earrings. Their African design influences caught
my attention as I shopped at the 2019 Rock your Rack event.

Continuing my research on African fashion, I fell in love with
LUXE Paris Fashion's Rumba dress with its sophisticated textures,
attention to detail and haute couture elegance.

The turban that I wear is a common feminine head wrap worn
in many parts of Southern and Western Africa. Indeed, African
women wear the turban as a queen wears her crown.

Finally, to add my French touch, I also adorned a little plush jacket
by Villena, one of the hottest trends in Paris fashion this fall.

A Quote from the Past...
"It seems to us that [these African fabrics] can provide, each and every one,
useful sources of inspiration. In every era, designers have turned to the Orient to revitalize
their enthusiasm. Didn't Rabelais write (after Pliny): There is always something new
out of Africa'?" - Henri Clouzot, Tissus Negres (Paris: A. Calavas, 1931)

Swank Events September '19 Showcases the Luxe Paris NEW YORK Sweater & Leather Skirt - It's the embodiment of modern American New York style, impeccably well-designed.

When I first saw this Luxe Paris Fashion New York Sweater & Leather Mini Skirt,
I recollected my high school years and my early interest in fashion design.
During the fall of my senior year I dreamt about attending a fashion design school.

At the time, there was only ONE school that I was considering.
It was The Fashion Institute of Technology in the garment district in New York.

It is so interesting where life’s journey leads you and shapes who you become
as a person with respect to your passions. Today, I am a successful architect -
working both domestically and internationally.

To this very day, I wonder where my life would have led me had I
attended the Fashion Institute in New York and not Cal Poly
where I received my professional architectural degrees.

I have found that there is a very close design relation between Fashion
and Architecture. Today, both these disciplines focus on attention to detail,
biophilic principles related to nature’s fractal patterns, structure, material
textures, juxtapositions, scale, proportion, colors, light and (of course) beauty.

Fashion in Second Life has given me a renaissance within my soul.
I love playing here in this magical virtual world. Not only does it
feed my fashionista passions – it also reawakens me to the joy of working
with other like-minded, passionate and astute fashion people.

I love interacting as a model with Mika Palmyra and Paris Skytower
at Luxe Paris Fashion Couture. They totally get it.

For fashion is all about expressing your uniqueness, showing someone who you
are through your styling aesthetical choices and using the language
of fashion to tell someone something wonderful about you.

This Luxe Paris New York Sweater and Leather Mini Skirt is a stellar example
of this aesthetic language. It is an obsession-worthy and edgy outfit
which breaks the boundaries in signature fashion.

So ladies, it is time to cozy up in stylish flair and treat yourself
to this Luxe Paris New York Sweater and Leather Mini.

This outfit is the embodiment of modern American New York style,
impeccably well-designed.  It is at once both timeless and flattering.

This knit sweater with its bare one-shoulder neckline look, long sleeves
and  rib border hem is ready for any day of the week.

Combined with its spicy hip hugging, black leather mini with silver eyelet and
trendy black variegated lace-up detailing adds a little something extra to your strut!

Swank Event's August '19 Showcases FlowerDream’s Mira Lingerie & Makeup Collection - Its look is Soft, Effortless and Very Sensual

The term "lingerie" is derived from the French word “linge” (linen) which
was the original material from which undergarments were traditionally made.

Lingerie as a word was first used to describe underwear and bras in 1922.

It later became a common term which moved lingerie beyond pragmatic
function - defining intimate undergarments for sexual enticement
and pleasure behind closed bedroom doors.

This FlowerDream’s Mira Lingerie collection is a beautiful and sexy example
of such sexual enticement and pleasure. Its’ look is soft, effortless and sensual.

Its' Babydoll long shirting creates a translucent veil, allowing a
sneak peek of your beautiful body and tempestuous laced panties

When Victoria's Secret entered the market in the late 1970s, it delivered
affordable lace thongs and padded satin bras to middle-class women which
contributed to making sexy lingerie commonplace in the bedroom.

From its’ early nostalgic beginnings to today's more edgy and fashion-forward
trends, its intention was and remains universal. albeit in very different forms.

So ladies, for that extra touch of tease, slip into FlowerDream's
sexual inspired, refreshingly lightweight and delicate Mira Lingerie ensemble.

This stunning Mira Babydoll lingerie ensemble is the soufflé to your femininity,
soul and passion. It is offered in pink, blue, red, white, yellow, plum and black.

Within this lingerie set, Nile Karas complements its beauty with two
Mira Makeup sets which includes eyeliner, eyelashes and lipstick –
all effortlessly woven with skin-perfecting color enrichments and highlights.

The lipstick is wonderfully done with red to pink pigmentation and light refracting highlights which enhances your beautiful smile for that naturally fresh and perfected look.

For the August "Around the World Swank Event," Hawker's House Clothing Proudly Introduces the Sekushi Reiki Mini Dress - A Mini which possesses seductive mystical power & energy.

Japanese fashion is influenced by its historic culture.

In the Japanese culture, the crane represents good fortune and longevity,
referring to the crane as the “bird of happiness” and as a symbol of eternal youth.

The most prominent feature on this beautiful Hawker's House Clothing's (HH)
Sekushi Reiki Mini Dress is its' large graceful crane print.

Japanese cranes are the largest birds in Japan and are considered
"special natural monuments,"  known as "tancho" (red mountain).

The crane is a mystical creature and is believed to live for a thousand years.

The crane symbolizes good fortune and longevity because of this fabled
life span. Its’ use in Japanese fashion reflects their culture's
visible artistic and traditional values.

HH transfigures this artistry and tradition into this stunning
red HH Sekushi Reiki Mini Dress. The color (red) is also
a symbol of Asian culture for good fortune and prosperity.

I love how the arrayed delicate straps of this mini connects to the apex and
center front gore locations of its sweetheart neckline and how it caresses my
shoulders and chest - complementing both this dress’ aesthetic and color scheme.

This newly released mini dress at Swank Events August serves as an iconic reminder of Japan’s rich culture. I added the sleeves and the boots to express more of the Japan’s Street Fashion styling which is very prevalent in today’s youth culture.

This younger generation in Japan often combines traditional kimono prints with modern styles in fashion. They usually mix and match their own style collections to be inspired.

The word “Sekushi” in Japanese translates to “sexy.” The term “Reiki” is actually
a form of alternative medicine called "energy healing."

Combined, this mini dress makes a very powerful sensual statement -
for it possesses a universal sexual energy which is certain
to attract “flocks” of men to your beckon call.
